Big Truck Country: Mudfest – an Invictus Games Ltd project ceased in development

If you’re reading this post, probably you’re familiar with the Hungarian based developer studio called Invictus Games.

They started their career as a tiny team in Hungary in the early 90s and as real car enthusiasts, they showed the world that it can be done differently. Exactly as we fans want to see a racing game, no matter in what genre.

We are more than thankful to them for creating such great games like the original INSANE, Street Legal, Street Legal Racing Redline, Cross Racing Championship, LA Street racing or their MMO racing games series that made them well known and famous worldwide, for example Project-Torque and Level-R.

They were always quiet but behind the scenes, spent all their time, put effort, money and their knowledge to make something bigger and better. Something innovative. These guys were and currently still are hard working on their projects and at the end, out from nowhere, BOOM, a game has been released!

But this time let’s talk about something that we have been waiting for ages.

A new, proper racing game, for PC, directly from Invictus Games.

According to their portfolio found on their website, their latest project was called Big Truck Country: Mudfest.

Since the studio was acquired by Zordix in 2020 and later getting renamed to Maximus Entertainment , things has changed and after all these years of waiting, it looks like everything can take a serious turn and land in the bin as we can see what happened to this promising project.

As the only thing we know about the project, it was supposed to be an offroad-racing game developed by Invictus Games, using the latest Unreal engine and was meant to be released for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox X/S platforms in 2024, however according to the steam database, the project has been left nearly untouched since early 2024.

But let’s see how the game was supposed to look like from the early stage of development!

We also have a roadmap sizzle released from Maximum Entertainment, where the game can be seen in live action from 26 seconds.

And for now, the only thing we can wish for is a small chance of bringing back the project to the workshop by Maximum Entertainment or use the existing technology and assets of the game and implement in a similar game.

Let’s see what the future brings.
